Shubman Gill became the sixth batsman to score a century in IPL 2023. Earlier, Harry Brook, Venkatesh Iyer, Yashasvi Jaiswal, Suryakumar Yadav and Prabhasimran Singh scored centuries in IPL 2023. But, after Sudarshan's dismissal, GT's other batsmen dropped the boards and SRH's made a stellar comeback.

Bhuvneshwar Kumar forced Wriddhiman Saha (0 ) to take a slip in the first over. Sai Sudarshan, who got a chance in the playing eleven, was run out twice. Shubman Gill's form continued and he crossed the 500-run mark this season.

Shubman and Sai's 84-ball 147-run partnership was broken by Marco Janssen in the 15th over and Sai was caught for 47 runs. Hardik Pandya (8) was dismissed by Bhuvneshwar. Natarajan hit David Miller (7) for the next six. After that Farooqui bowled Rahul for 3 runs

In the 20th over, Shubman hit 13 fours and 1 six off 58 balls and was dismissed for 101 runs. Bhuvneshwar sent back Rashid Khan (0) on the next ball and Noor Ahmed was run out on the hat-trick ball. Bhuvneshwar took three wickets in the 20th over and completed a spell of 4-0-30-5.

Shubman Gill scored centuries in ODI (208 runs), Test (128 runs), Twenty20 International (126* runs) and IPL (101) centuries in the calendar year 2023. He became the first Indian batsman to achieve such a feat.
